Dear Parishioners,
Today is Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. We are invited to rejoice for we celebrate the Triumphant Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Today is also the Sunday of Singing Hosanna and Saying Hail to the King Jesus.
Jesus’ heart must have been overjoyed when the people welcomed him as he entered Jerusalem. The inhabitants of Jerusalem cheered him on the road with songs of praise and waving palm branches, acclaiming him as the Messiah and Liberator of Israel.
Later on, the same crowd shouted at him” “Crucify him!”. So, throughout Holy Week, we will continue to reflect on the events of Jesus’ passion and death. As we meditate on the cross, we will again anew what it means to make the profession of faith that Jesus, in his obedient suffering and dying, revealed himself to us as God’s Son and brought to fulfillment the Kingdom of God.
Therefore, let us sincerely spend this Holy Week in times of prayer and mourn for the passion of Jesus who is the fulfillment of God’s love and mercy.
Let us take away the sins of commission and win the heart of our compassionate Lord. I wish you all a contemplative Holy Week.
