Dear Parishioners,
First and foremost, I wish you a joyous feast of Christ’s Resurrection. Yes, Jesus is truly risen. It is a blessed assurance that God is faithful to his promises. He raised Jesus his Son from the dead.
The Resurrection of Jesus tells us that there is a future for us; there is heaven we can look forward to when this transitory world passes away, there is still life after death. The Resurrection of Jesus is the basis of our faith. It is the greatest of the miracles, for it proves that Jesus is God.
Easter is a feast which gives us hope and encouragement in this world of pain, sorrows, moral weakness, physical illness, natural disasters, conflicts, hatred, paradox, contradiction, war, fear and tears. It reminds us that life is worth living.
It also gives us strength to fight against temptations and freedom from unnecessary worries and fears. Jesus by his resurrection is showing us that after suffering there is happiness. After death, there is still life.
But this Easter hope does not mean to passively wait but rather, it challenges us to make our world better. To make a better spiritual world we need to journey from self-righteousness to selflessness, faithlessness to faithfulness, dryness to divineness and barrenness to belovedness.
