At the direction of Bishop Gainer all parishes and institutions are instructed to suspend the distribution of the Precious Blood to the faithful by way of the Chalice and to omit the exchange of peace effective February 28, 2020.
Effective the weekend of May 30, 2021:
Regarding the exchange of the sign of peace, the celebrant will offer the sign of peace to those attending the Mass. He will then ask those in attendance to offer the sign of peace. You may just turn to your neighbor and verbally extend the sign of peace to them or a nod to those not sitting next to you. Please use your own discretion and do not feel uncomfortable with your decision.
Holy Water is available in all of the fonts in our Parish Church. The votive candles have been restored in the front of the Church by each of the side altars. A donation for each vigil lite would be appreciated. There is a box for your donation at each of the votive stands.
The Missalettes (Book of Sacred Liturgy) and the Sacred Song Hymnals are now in the pews for your convenience.
Effective August 15, 2021
Bishop Gainer will reinstate the obligation of attending Mass in person on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation beginning Sunday, August 15, 2021, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass has been in place since March of 2020 when the developing coronavirus pandemic required people not to assemble in group settings. Now, with the impact of the pandemic considerably reduced, it is possible for the faithful to assemble again for the Eucharist and fitting to restore the obligation.
