Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Ripple Effects
…what god has prepared for those who love him, this God has revealed to us through the Spirit(1 Corinthians 2:9-10)
We’ve all tossed a stone into a body of water and watched the waves ripple outward, farther than we could ever throw the stone. imagine, that stone is a decision you’ve made, an action can have far-reaching consequences, often unintended,, even unpredictable. When I’m struggling to make a decision, I try to remember that the problem could be me. My prayer then becomes Please God, get me out of the way.
Prayer helps prepare our hearts to change so that we can hear and trust what the Spirit wants us to know, we can hear and trust what the Spirit wants us to know. Wisdom will always direct us to love, not in a shallow sense but deeply and unconditionally with hearts conformed to follow God’s will–Christlike in word and action. St. Paul reminds us that the wisdom of God is predetermined for the good of all that God has created.
