As evening comes on the vigil of Good Shepherd Sunday, we pray this most beloved of psalms to express our trust in the Lord who leads us always from dark and difficult places into the light of his presence and the peace of his rest. This is Easter faith.
The Lord is my Shepherd there is nothing I shall want. Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose. Near restful waters he leads me to revive my drooping spirit.
